Additive & Subtractive Manufacturing Systems

01 — Who we are
We design and build the machines that make parts.
Stratum is an Indian machine builder focused on additive and subtractive manufacturing. We engineer each system end to end: the structure, motion, process head and controls.
Our machines give manufacturers one partner for building parts up layer by layer and for machining them to finish.

02 — What we build
Two disciplines, one machine builder
Build up
Large-format pellet extrusion systems that build parts layer by layer, with further additive processes in development.

Cut away
CNC machining systems in 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis configurations for accurate, repeatable material removal.

03 — Gantry platform
Large‑format, open gantry
A rigid bridge-style frame carrying a vertical process head over a wide working bed, sized for big parts, moulds and tooling.
04 — Enclosed platform
Closed cell for controlled production
A fully enclosed machine with front access doors, side viewing ports and extraction on top, keeping the process contained on the shop floor.

05 — Additive manufacturing
Growing across AM technologies
Large-format pellet extrusion is our core additive process. We are now developing systems across further additive manufacturing technologies.
Pellet extrusion
Large-format printing direct from granulate. Our print head is designed for abrasive, fibre-filled composite materials.
Hybrid additive + CNC
Print near-net shape, then machine to finish on one platform.
More processes in development
06 — Subtractive manufacturing
CNC in three, four and five axes
One machining range that scales with the geometry of the part, from flat work to complex surfaces in a single setup.
Linear motion for plates, profiles, pockets and mould work.
A rotary axis for indexed and wrap-around machining of a part.
Full tool orientation for complex surfaces, undercuts and single-setup finishing.
07 — Process
From model to finished part
Printing and machining work as one chain: build close to shape, then cut to final dimension.

Design
The part is modelled in CAD and sized to the machine envelope.

Toolpath
Layers and deposition paths are generated for the print.

Pellet extrusion builds the part layer by layer to near-net shape.

Machine
CNC finishing brings critical surfaces to final tolerance.
08 — What we offer
From concept to commissioning
Machine design
Structure, motion and process head engineered in-house.
Premium builds
Industrial-grade frames, components and finish on every machine.
Installation
On-site setup, calibration and commissioning.
Training
Operator training on machine, software and process.
Support
After-sales service, spares and upgrades.
09 — Applications
Where our machines work
Large parts that are slow or costly to make conventionally: printed near shape, machined to finish.
Composite and abrasive materials are our primary scope. The print head is designed specifically for abrasive composites.

The name
A stratum is a single layer.
Every part our machines make is built from them, or cut back through them, with control at every pass.
